How can I check desi ghee at home?

Warm a spoon in a pan: pure ghee melts quickly, turns golden and smells nutty. If it stays pale or leaves a white residue, something else is mixed in. These are kitchen checks, not lab tests.

Why is it grainy?

Slow-made desi ghee sets with a natural grain at room temperature. This is a good sign.

Is it cow or buffalo ghee?

How do I use it?
